飛翼Hiyoku

計画地はニセコ町市街地から2kmほど西の場所で、眼下に尻別川、遠景に羊蹄山、スキー場のあるアンヌプリを眺められる場所であり、周囲は木々で囲まれています。

建主は、この景色を充分に住まいに取り込むことと、木やスチール、コンクリート等の素材感を生かした、モダンなデザインを持つ建築を希望されました。

建物の平面配置は、東の羊蹄山や尻別川の風景を取り込むために、その方向に細長い形態としました。

東の開口はその雄大な景色を望む高さ3.2Mの大開口となっています。対するアプローチ側はプライバシーも考慮した細長い水平窓、最上部のサイドライトは採光と通風を得ながら、屋根は翼のように浮かぶ表現になっています。

建物の構造は鉄骨造で、主要な柱梁以外の床・壁・屋根は木造で構成しています。サッシ間に見える構造柱は90mm角でサッシと同化、構造体の存在を希薄にし、雄大な景色を最大限取り入れる事を目指しました。

外装は、あたたかな表情を持つ道南杉と、シャープな表情を持つ板金を組み合わせ、周囲に林立する木々と同調させるためにランダムな巾を選択、お互いの長所を引き立てあう立面としています。

The site is located about 2 km west of downtown Niseko Town. It overlooks the Shiribetsu River below, with Mount Yōtei and Annupuri—home to a ski resort—visible in the distance, and is surrounded by trees.

The client desired a modern design that would fully incorporate this scenery into the home while highlighting the textures of materials such as wood, steel, and concrete.

The building’s floor plan was designed in a long, narrow shape oriented toward the east to frame the views of Mount Yōtei and the Shiribetsu River.

The eastern facade features a large, 3.2-meter-high opening that frames the majestic landscape. On the approach side, narrow horizontal windows provide privacy, while the top-most sidelights allow for natural light and ventilation, creating the impression that the roof floats like a wing.

The building features a steel frame structure, with the floors, walls, and roof constructed of wood, except for the main columns and beams. The structural columns visible between the window frames are 90 mm square and blend in with the frames, minimizing the presence of the structural elements to maximize the intake of the magnificent scenery.

The exterior combines the warm texture of Donan cedar with the sharp lines of sheet metal. To harmonize with the surrounding trees, the widths of the panels were selected at random, creating a facade where the materials’ respective strengths complement one another.
